What is a Visa Debit Card?

  • Visa Debit Card is an internationally accepted Visa ATM/Debit Card that is linked to your BankIslami account, allowing spending on shopping outlets and cash withdrawals at ATMs.

What is the difference between a debit and credit card?

  • Visa Debit Card allows you to pay for your purchases using your own money through the Visa network, while a credit card provides you with the ability to access credit, which you then repay at a later date. This means with Visa Debit Card you can access the Visa network using your own money without worrying about receiving a credit card bill at the end of each month.

How do I make a purchase with my debit card?

  • On your purchase the cashier will ‘swipe’ the card and give you a charge slip. Check the transaction amount and sign the slip. Once the transaction is complete, the amount will be deducted from your BankIslami account.

For how long is my card valid?

  • The validity period of the card is 3 years from the date of issue. The card expiry month is mentioned on the front of the card.

How do I change my ATM pin?

  • In case of PIN change, customer has to contact our 24/7 Call Center on 111-475264 (ISLAMI) & request for the PIN reissuance

What should I do if my card gets stolen or lost?

  • If your debit card is lost or stolen, immediately call our 24/7 call center on 111-475264 (from outside Pakistan call +92-21 111-475264.

Takaful Coverage

 

BankIslami Visa Debit Card now provides Takaful Coverage to its

cardholders. Takaful Coverage is based on the following limits:

 

Classic  Rs. 250,000/-

Gold      Rs. 500,000/-

 

Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions shall be applicable in respect of Takaful Coverage

provided to the Visa Debit Cardholders

ATM Cash Cover

BankIslami Visa Debit Card now provides ATM Cash Cover to its

cardholders. ATM Cash Coverage is based on the following limits:

 

Classic  Up to Rs. 20,000/-  (per transaction per day)

Gold      Up to Rs. 50,000/- (Per transaction per day

Terms & Conditions:

These terms and conditions shall be applicable in respect of ATM Withdrawal

Services provided to the Visa Debit Cardholders

 

1. Applicability and Eligibility:.

 

ATM Cash coverage for valid Visa Debit card holders, the

eligibility for which is conditioned upon activation of card within the

georaphical boundaries of Pakistan and on ATM's across Pakistan

 

 

2.Event Covered:

 

Loss of cash by way of forcible and violent snatching and/or armed hold-up

and/or forced deprivation of money from the Customer him/herself (not any

other person acting on behalf of the Customer), provided such cash having

been withdrawn by the Customer himself/herself using the ATM Withdrawal

Services so provided by the Participant to its Card holders.

 

3. Benefits:

 

3.1Withdrawal through ATM:

Loss of money consequent upon its withdrawal from any ATM Machine during the

period of coverage and occurring within the Prescribed Time Limit against the

Event herein covered, as per the following limits:

 

Classic Customers       Up to Rs. 20,000/- (per transaction/day, in aggregate)

Gold Customers  Up to Rs. 50,000/- (per transaction/day, in aggregate)

 

3.2 Provided always that the amount so claimed by the Customer shall be

limited to the actual amount so lost that shall not to exceed the maximum

limit under the respective category, subject to the condition that such valid

claims would be paid not more than 3 times to an individual during a Policy

Year by the Bank.

 

 

4 Double insurance/coverage:

 

If at the time of an event so covered by this Takaful coverage there is any

other takaful/insurance coverage facility being availed by the Customer for

any loss incurred by the Customer which may otherwise have been covered under

this Takaful coverage, the Company shall not be liable for more than its rate

able proportion thereof.

 

5. False, in correct or fraudulent claim:

 

If any statement in the Claim Notification by the Customer is false,

 incorrect or fraudulent or attempt thereof or not made in accordance with

 the terms and conditions herein, the Company shall be absolved from its

 warranted liability under this Takaful coverage.

 

6. Claim intimation should be routed through the Phone Banking department

within 24 hours of the incident and claim forms along with the documents must

be submitted within one week of the incident.

 

Exclusions

 

The Bank shall not be liable under this Coverage in respect of any loss

results due to:

 

1 Cash withdrawals made by any person on behalf of the Visa Debit Cardholder

(i.e. other than the Cardholder himself/herself), utilizing the Visa Debit

Card of the Cardholder.

 

2 If during the course of the claims’ investigation, it has been revealed

 that the covered event was planned by the Cardholder to obtain the Benefits

 under this policy.

 

3 Incomplete Claim Documents.

 

4. Late notification of Claim

 

5 War, Strike, Riot, Civil Commotion, Terrorism and related acts and as

defined under the Company’s standard ATM Cash Cover Takaful Policy.

 

6. Takaful Coverage Cancellation / Stoppage:

 

The Cardholder shall be ceased to be covered under this Coverage on any of

 the following events:

 

a) The Death of the Cardholder;

 

b) Cancellation/Closure of the account of the Cardholder by the Customer

and/or vice versa;

 

c) Coverage herein offered, can also be terminated at any time by the

 Customer providing written notice of at least 30 days to the Company,

 coverage of whom shall remain do not enforce until its respective renewal

 dates at which point the coverage shall not longer be continued nor the

 customer shall accordingly be charged.

 

e) Any fraudulent, dishonest or criminal reason affecting the Takaful

 coverage hereunder.

 

7. This is a mandatory Takaful Coverage, and is free from any other coverage

facility being availed by the Cardholder.

 

8. If any statement in the Claim Notification by the Cardholder is found to

 be false, incorrect or fraudulent or not made in accordance with the terms

 and conditions herein, the Customer and Company shall be absolved of any

 liability under this Coverage and shall not be held responsible. Coverage in

 respect of such Cardholders shall immediately be cancelled and no return of

 contribution shall be allowed by the Company in the event of such

cancellation.

 

8 No return of Contribution shall be applicable in the event any claim being

settled by the Company in respect of any Cardholder.

 

9 General

 

a) This Takaful Coverage shall become effective immediately upon activation

 of Visa Debit Card by the Cardholder

 

b) The Bank has the right to decline this Takaful Coverage to any Cardholder

without assigning any reason.

 

10) Amendment of this Coverage/Policy

 

This Coverage may be amended or changed at any time, without the consent of

the Cardholder. Any amendment or change to this Coverage shall be binding on

the Cardholder.

 

 

 

Claim Documents

 

a) Claim Form duly completed and signed by the cardholder duly verified by

 the designated official of the Bank;

b) Copy of the valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) of the ATM

Cardholder;

c) Daily report from the reported Police Station (Roznamcha) for 1st claim

 and F.I.R. for any subsequent claim

d) Copy of ATM Card/ VISA Debit Card (if available)

e) Any other document so required by the Surveyor, depending upon the nature

and type of claim.

 

The Customer understand and hereby agrees that valid claim(s) if any, shall

only be processed upon submission of all the documents so required by the

Bank.
