International Bank Account Number or IBAN is introduced in Pakistan as per the instructions of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and is mainly used for making or receiving international payments.
It makes your existing account number globally unique and recognizable by converting it into an internationally standardized format.
IBAN is used to facilitate the automatic processing of domestic fund transfers and remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis to improve the speed, accuracy and reliability of payment transactions.
How to get IBAN?
IBAN number is printed on the Bank Statements sent to customers on a semi annual basis.
